A message from DVAU President Ed Joyce:
The Delaware Valley Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church &
State is proud to announce the inauguration of a fundraising campaign to
raise $2500 for a scholarship to be awarded to a local high school senior.
Americans United has a mandate in insure that the wisdom of church/state
separation is passed on to future generations. It is imperative that future
generations realize the importance of maintaining a healthy separation
between religion and government.
If we are not vigilant this precious wisdom will be diluted and eventually
In the spirit of this mandate, DVAU is asking you to consider donating to
this worthy cause. We feel strongly a scholarship is an excellent way to
draw attention to church/state issues at the high school level and raise
awareness of our goals.
For those donating at the $500 or $1000 level a scholarship of that amount
will be awarded in your name (incidentally, a very generous
$1000 contribution has already been received). Alternatively, we can offer
a single scholarship in the name of DVAU comprised of smaller donations.
The scholarship will be competitive and require an essay and resume and the
recipients will be asked to present their paper at a chapter meeting.
Your tax deductible donations can be made by check to: DVAU, P.O. Box 574,
Yardley, PA 19067 (please indicate Scholarship Fund) or by credit card
using PayPal on our website: dvau.org.
We sincerely hope you will consider supporting this endeavor, at whatever
level, and help insure that the torch of church/state separation ideals are
passed on to future generations. If we don’t do it – who will?
Ed Joyce, President
Delaware Valley Chapter,
Americans United for Separation of Church and State
