Pope_Francis_Korea_Haemi_Castle_19_(cropped)As reported on March 11, 2015, by CBS Philly, the US Department of Homeland Security will take responsibility for security arrangements for the September 2015 visit of Pope Francis to the United States, including his trip to Philadelphia PA.

DVAU was asked if the use of US government resources for the Pope’s visit would be considered a violation of separation of church and state.

We replied that no, it is not a violation, because the Pope is considered a Head of State and our government would make the same arrangements for any visiting dignitary, such as the Queen of England, the King of Sweden, and so on.
